About Us

Welcome to We Connect & Grow

We Connect & Grow is a culturally inclusive practice supporting families and professionals to build strong relationships, emotional wellbeing, and a sense of belonging.

We specialise in parenting and wellbeing programs delivered through a culturally safe and responsive lens, and capacity building for cultural safety and inclusion in professional practice.

Our work is grounded in attachment theory, trauma-informed and evidence-informed practice, and deep respect for culture, language, and lived experience.

We believe that when people feel safe, seen, and understood, real connection can happen — and from that connection, growth naturally follows.

Our Story

We are not just a team of practitioners with over 20 years of experience across parenting, community wellbeing, education, child and family welfare, family services, and family violence services. We are also parents and migrants who have lived the journey we now support others through.

We moved to Australia from different parts of the world and experienced firsthand what it feels like to start again, navigating unfamiliar systems, learning new parenting expectations, experiencing cultural shock, and raising children far from our roots.

We understand the isolation, uncertainty, and fear many families carry. We have also seen how powerful connection, cultural identity, and respectful support can be in restoring confidence and hope.

Through our practice, we observed an opportunity to strengthen how parenting and family support is accessed by CALD families, particularly by enhancing cultural safety, accessibility, and relevance within existing services.

That is why We Connect & Grow is here to provide a space where families feel respected, understood and connected, and where culture is not something to “work around”, but something to work with.

What “Connect” and “Grow” Mean?

Connect

Connection is at the heart of everything we do. It means emotional safety, cultural belonging, and being truly seen and heard — without judgement.

In parenting and family life, connection builds trust, reduces isolation, and supports children’s emotional development.

In professional practice, connection strengthens engagement, collaboration, and meaningful outcomes for families.

Grow

Growth happens when people feel safe enough to learn, reflect, heal, and try something new.

For families, growth means:

  • building confidence in parenting

  • strengthening relationships

  • raising children with emotional security and cultural pride

For professionals, growth means:

  • increasing cultural responsiveness

  • building confidence working with diverse communities

  • embedding cultural safety into everyday practice

Connection creates safety. Safety creates growth.

Our Purpose

To walk alongside families and communities with compassion, supporting healing, strengthening relationships, and building hope together.

Our Vision

Our vision is a community where every family feels seen, valued, and connected; where cultural diversity is embraced; and where families are empowered to meet their language, cultural, and community needs.

Our Mission

  • To deliver culturally safe, inclusive, and evidence-based parenting programs

  • To support families, especially CALD families, to engage with services in ways that feel respectful and accessible

  • To build the capacity of professionals to work confidently and ethically across cultures

  • To strengthen connection, early intervention, and long-term wellbeing for children and families
